The first group run on 26 September 2020 was initiated by Kelvin after Pei Chin had expressed her wish to run 10 km within 60 minutes. Kelvin introduced the slow jogging method to train our Maximum Aerobic Function (MAF). The initial facilitators are Kelvin, Chang Yang and Joe who have met at the January 2020 Vietnam Trail Marathon at Moc Chau, Son La Province in Vietnam. The program become more structured and persisted through Covid-19 restrictions. Nik and Oh joined the facilitator group in 2021 and Garmin Sports Camp were added to easily deploy programmed workouts to members' Garmin devices.
The group has also completed two trekking trips to Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal in October 2022 and April 2023. Local and overseas runs are also events in the group's endeavour; recent runs were Vietnam Mountain Marathon in Sapa, Vietnam, September 2023, Penang Bridge Marathon in Penang, Malaysia, December 2023 and Dalat Ultra Trail in Dalat, Vietnam, March 2024.
Health topics are hot discussion at breakfast after the weekly run. Most members have improved on their health parameters through the regular runs and changes in diet and lifestyle from the knowledge shared and various experimentation conducted.
Everyone is welcomed to join the group and it has grown over time with referral from existing members to their family and friends.
